Village Event Highlight: Villagers Retreat 2023

In May, a group of Village Global founders and Network Investors (the angels and GPs with whom we partner and co-invest) gathered in the California redwoods for a range of discussions about how to scale our businesses. Nearly 100 Villagers in total were present. Dozens of peer conversations ensued, along with special presentations from OpenAI and others. 

A few examples of breakout sessions: 

• Forethought founder Deon Nicholas moderated a session entitled "From Founder to CEO - How to up-level yourself"
• Village Partner Ben Casnocha led a group session on dangerous ideas – the hot takes were too hot and controversial to repeat here!
• Network Investor Gurdane Bhutani of MBX Capital shared his notes from his session on ”Personal diligence and investor communications”.
• Julia Enthoven, founder of Kapwing, led a workshop about 0 to 1 SEO and how she grew Kapwing to 3 million monthly website visitors in 2 years. 

The coastal redwoods served as a fitting backdrop to learn, recharge, and return to building, with roots more interconnected than before.
